The pristinely beautiful town of Palampur is located at the foothills of the Himalayan mountains and surrounded by tea gardens and pine forests. Rightly named as 'The Tea Capital of North India', Palampur will fill your lungs with the adequate freshness and soothe your senses like nothing else can ever do.
This tour is aptly recommended for budget backpackers and gap year travelers looking for a perfect amalgamation of volunteer work, trekking & adventure activities, yoga and meditation classes. There's also the option to go for a Paragliding Tour at the World's Second Highest Paragliding Spot in Bir- Billing, Himachal Pradesh. As a part of volunteering service, you'll have to spend some quality time with underprivileged kids at the Child Care Centers in Palampur.

Day 1 - Welcome to India
Namaste, hello and welcome to one of the most beautiful countries in the world. One of our team members will be there at the Indira Gandhi International Airport to greet you and then, you can head towards your accommodation to relax and get over your jet lag. You'll also get to meet your fellow travelers today.
Day 2 - Fly to Dharamsala
You'll have to take a short flight to Dharamsala (nearly 1 hour). You will be received at the airport and taken to Palampur accommodation, located in the foothills of the Himalayas. You can spot the peaks covered with snow, from the accommodation itself. Then, you can take some rest, and later you’ll have an orientation session which will help you know about the upcoming days’ schedule. In the evening, you can go for a walk to the nearby market.
Day 3 - Volunteer work during the day and Yoga Sessions in the evening
The real feel of the trip will begin today, as you'll head out for the volunteering at the Child Care Center in Palampur. The day care centers are in extremely poor condition and you'll get to use your creativity while renovating the space and adding some colors to it. It's gonna be fun to work with a bunch of like-minded folks and meet the chirpy little ones at the centers.
In the evening, there will be a Yoga and Meditation Class for you to relax and unwind in the lap of Mother Nature. This session will surely make you feel lighter and happier than before.
Day 4 - Project work, Yoga Session as well as Palampur Tour
In the morning, you'll go to the center to carry on with your project work of renovation. Later, in the afternoon, you'll be taking a tour of Palampur, exploring the Himalayan hamlet and its beauty. Visit the tea gardens and the factory, before heading towards the Tashi Jong Monastery.
In the evening, you'll have your Yoga class as usual.
Day 5 to Day 7 - Continuation of Project Work and Yoga Sessions
Your mornings will have the regular work at the Daycare Center and evenings will bestow you with more peace through Yoga and meditation.
On Day 7, you'll have a briefing session about the upcoming trek during the weekend.
Day 8 - Trekking in the Himalayas
Post breakfast, you'll pack a small bag with essentials, and head out for a thrilling trekking experience in the Himalayas. You'll set out for Bir, a small town famous for its huge Tibetan population, apart from its serene beauty.
Your trek will start from Bir, and you'll have to trek for about 4-5 hours until you reach Billing which is also a famous Paragliding site. The chilling breeze will definitely make you feel the bliss, you can feel your adrenaline soaring up and the majestic Himalayas will keep accompanying you all along!
In case you wish to fly like a bird, go ahead and try out paragliding (additional costs).
Day 9 - Travel back to Palampur
Enough of adrenaline dose! It's time to get back to Palampur accommodation and take some rest. On your way back, you'll get to visit some of the Buddhist Monasteries as well.
Day 10 to Day 13 - Continuation of Project Work and Yoga Sessions
You will continue with the renovation work, and you can also get involved in teaching and playing with the little ones at the daycare center. The regular yoga and meditation classes will be held in the evenings.
On Day 13, bid 'Goodbye' to the kids at the center, while giving them a loving hug!
Day 14 - Shopping at Palampur, Return to Delhi
Of course, you want to pick up some souvenir for your friends and family, and today is the best time to head out for some shopping! Use your bargaining skills and get all that you want.
After returning back to Delhi, wind up all things, have a hearty farewell dinner with your fellows and try to figure out which has been your best moment from this trip.
Day 15 - Fly back home
We can arrange for an airport drop and you can board the flight for home.
Surely, these 2 weeks will be one of the best travel experiences you've ever had and the Himalayas, Palampur, the adorable kids and the charm of meditation will leave a mark on your memory.
Note: In the above itinerary, transfers to and from Palampur have been proposed by flight, cost of which would be separate. We can book it for you, or you can arrange for it by yourself. Transportation can also be arranged by land through vehicle transfer.

- Be flexible and open-minded, as well as enthusiastic for traveling.
You’ll fall in love with your accommodation in this picturesque town. The volunteer house where you’ll be staying has a huge open space in front, and you can see the snow capped peaks from every corner of the house. Rooms will be provided on the same-gender sharing basis, and all basic amenities will be available. However, don’t expect good internet facilities - try to disconnect as much as possible with the outer world. Hot and healthy meals will be provided to you at the accommodation itself.

I really enjoyed my project. The children were awesome, very kind, cheerful and respectful. The accommodation was good and the meals were always delicious.
I enjoyed spending time with the children. They were very lovely and gave you all their attention. Volunteer Solutions took care of us and answered all our inquiries.
The project was excellent, and a very worthwhile experience. Working with the children, although tiring as they were always full of energy, was extremely rewarding.
