Are you thrilled to set out for an adventurous journey to one of the most beautiful destinations in the world? The 2 Weeks Special South African Voluntour will take you down the lanes of Cape Town and let you peep into the lives of the natives. This exclusive tour has been designed for those who wish to have an authentic experience of South Africa, yet have a time crunch. Not only will you get to explore the picturesque golden beaches and the mind-blowing wildlife safari to spot the Big 5, but you'll also get an opportunity to serve the underprivileged folks in a township named Imizamo Yethu, and make an impact in their lives.
Day 1 - Arrival in Cape Town
Today, you'll be arriving at the Cape Town International Airport, and one of our coordinators will be there at the airport to greet you. You'll be taken directly to the volunteer house where you can take rest after your long flight. In the evening, you can head out to explore the local markets and familiarize yourself with the area near the accommodation.
Day 2 - Orientation and City Tour
After breakfast, you'll head out for the Office in Cape Town, where the Orientation Session will be conducted by the local coordinator. You'll be given a detailed idea about the journey, about your volunteer work, the safari and other activities. You'll also get an idea how to commute, the best places to eat, etc.
This session will be followed by a city tour of Cape Town. Keep your camera ready, as we'll take you down the interesting lanes of the city and you surely don't want to miss capturing the perfect shots!
Day 3 to Day 6 - Volunteer work at the Imizamo Yethu Township
On the 3rd day of your trip, you'll commence working at the Child Care Center in the underprivileged community of Imizamo Yethu Township. The centers here suffer from an inadequate teacher-child ratio, hence, the kids don't receive proper attention and care. Their parents have a difficult time in earning their daily bread and thus, they don't get love at home as well. Your main role as a volunteer will be to take care of the children, shower them with love, feed them, teach them basic lessons and play with them. These caregiving centers depend heavily on the contribution of the volunteers.
Day 7 to Day 8 - Drive down the Route 62 and Wildlife Safari Tour
No tour to South Africa can ever be complete without a wildlife safari! So we are all set to take you to Sedgefield for a thrilling safari & Elephant Encounter as well! The drive from Cape Town to Sedgefield through Route 62, which is also called the Garden Route, will be absolutely amazing! And then, we'll head out for the morning safari to spot the lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes and other animals.
Later, you'll get to walk along with the elephants and spend some time with them. You'll be staying at the Backpacker's Dorm for the night.
On the second day, we shall drive from Sedgefield to Cape Town. We shall pay a quick visit to the Outeniqua Mountains to the Karoo town of Oudtshoorn, where you’ll have 2 options to choose from. You can either choose to explore the wonders of the Cango Caves, one of the largest cave systems in the world, or visit the Cango Wildlife Ranch, full of exciting animal encounters from Crocodile cage diving to stroking a baby tiger!
Note: Optional Activities: Please note that these rates are subject to change without prior notice as per the service providers.
