Get ready to experience the best that Kenya has to offer you, within a time frame of just 2 weeks!
Day 1 - Arrival in Kenya
Today, you'll be arriving at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, and one of our coordinators will be there at the airport to greet you. If you find someone saying "Jambo" to you - don't be perplexed! It means "Hello" in Swahili, Kenyan language. Our coordinator will take you to the accommodation where you can relax and take some rest after your long flight.
In the evening, you can head out to explore the local markets and familiarize yourself with the area near the accommodation.
Day 2 - Orientation; City tour of Nairobi and visit to Giraffe Manor
After breakfast, there will be an orientation when our coordinator will brief you about the itinerary of the days ahead. You'll also be taught a couple of commonly used Swahili phrases so that you can have the basic conversations with the locals. Knowing a little of the local language is always good while exploring abroad.
Later that day, you'll take a trip to the Giraffe Manor, located on the outskirts of Nairobi. This place provides shelter to the Rothschild Giraffes, and the visitors allowed to feed these tall ones while spending quality time with them. Spanning over nearly 140 acres of indigenous forest in the Langata suburb of Nairobi, this Manor is worth visiting.
After heading back to the city, you'll visit some of the most popular tourist spots in Nairobi. If time permits, you can also quickly visit the weekly market in the city, where the locals usually flock to shop.
Day 3 - 7 Volunteering at the Orphanage in Nairobi
During the daytime, you'll get to spend around 4 - 6 hours with adorable kids at an Orphanage in the city. These kids are victims of misfortune, but they deserve love and care. As a volunteer, your main task would be to take care of these little ones, provide them with basic education and help the staff in administrative work. Being here with the kids, you'll realize the true meaning of unconditional love.
Make the most of your evenings by exploring the nearby areas of attraction and don't forget to savor the tastes of local Kenyan cuisine. Try out the Carnivore Restaurant, and as the name suggests, you'll find world-class meat products at this place and it'll make your taste buds crave for more!
Day 8 - 9 Maasai Mara Wildlife Safari
You must have been waiting for this day to arrive! You'll get to experience 2 safaris, one evening safari (on Day 8) and a morning safari (on Day 9). No trip to Kenya can ever be complete without meeting the Big 5 of Africa! Maasai Mara is one of the most popular reserves in Africa, and you'll surely spot some lions and their cubs, apart from giraffes, zebras, and elephants. And to add onto that, you'll be camping within the wildlife reserve areas! It's gonna be an adventurous night, and who knows, you might just have a sudden encounter with a forest friend!
Day 10 - 13 Continue with your volunteering work at the Orphanage
By this time, you'll get familiar to the kids and thus, work will be more fun. Plan engaging activities so that the kids can get to learn while playing. You can also renovate the center and add some colors and vibrancy to the place.
Day 14 - Trip to Mamba Village and Bomas of Kenya
Before winding up this joyride, your final destinations would be Mamba Village and Bomas. Enjoy traditional Kenyan meals while gazing at the ostrich farms in Mamba. Bomas is a touristy village where you can witness the different aspects of Kenyan culture including their art, culture, crafts, music, and dances. Overall, it'll be an enriching experience for you and a step closer towards knowing more about the natives of the land.
Day 15 - Trip ends as you'll board your flight for home
Like all good things, this trip will also come to an end, adding some beautiful memories to your life. Don't forget to buy souvenirs for your friends and family. Seek help from our coordinator, in case you want us to arrange for your airport drop.
