Last but not least I also went to the beach town of Montezuma and attended beach parties too. It was super fun. You should definitely go with Go Discover Abroad to Costa Rica.

I am traveling from past 11 months around the world and although India was not on my bucket list, in the beginning, I immediately fell in love with this colorful vibrant country and its lovely people.
Trekking in the Himalayan mountains was like a cherry on the cake. In this trip, I learned some basics of Hindi - which was very helpful - and visited the main attractions - like Taj Mahal in Agra, Golden Temple in Amritsar and I also shopped from the streets of Delhi.
Really it was a heartwarming experience, thanks to GDA!

I liked that the website was very easy to navigate around and that it had a number of simple straight forward filters which could help narrow down and suggest options for where to go based on the criteria’s selected.

I found the itinerary very helpful and useful. Everything I needed to know was along with the itinerary e.g. visas, arrival, departure etc. I knew where to go and what to do because of the itinerary. I liked the way that the itinerary went further by providing me with information about the country traditions and greetings in Thai to learn. This was very useful as I could already say basic phrases when I arrived in Thailand.

The Operations Head, Sahil was very helpful when it came to helping me prepare for my trip. He was very prompt with answering any questions or queries I had or would call me back. As a first-time solo traveler, he provided me with a lot of information to help assure me that everything is planned and looked after. Knowing that I had a direct form of contact to speak to if I had any questions was very reassuring.
One of the best experiences I have ever had.

My experience in Cusco was absolutely extraordinary.
There is an endless amount of places to explore in Cusco, and everything is very inexpensive. I was able to take day trips to Machu Picchu, Humantay Lake, Rainbow Mountain, and the Sacred Valley at very little cost. I loved seeing Peru's beautifully diverse countryside and learning about its rich history. I returned to the United States wiser and more confident after immersing myself in Peru's culture for two weeks.

My family and I would like to thank all the coordinators at Go Discover Abroad who were so helpful to us as I prepared for my trip. My parents were able to send me to Peru feeling confident that I would be safe and receive assistance. I was and I did! The experience was more incredible than I could have even imagined! Thank you!

Samantha García  |  Mexico  (4 / 5)

My overall experience was amazing, I do not have anything to complain about at all. Everything was better than I expected, from my accommodation, to my travel, my coordinator, everything was great.

My local coordinator, Jenny Torres, was amazing. She answered all of my questions even before my trip and was always very supportive. She always cared a lot about my safety and well-being and would constantly ask me how I was doing, checking up on me making sure everything was fine.

My accommodation was excellent. Visiting all the amazing touristic spots, such as Machu Picchu, the Rainbow Mountain, and many other archaeological zones that are just mind-blowing.

Probably one of my biggest highlights were the friendships that I made with the other travelers on my program, I have friends from different parts of the world that I hope to keep in touch with for a very long time.

Jessica Piller-Argent  |  United Kingdom  (4 / 5)

I like the countdown to the trip and how the information was separated into different sections. It really made it easy to find.
My family and I really enjoyed in Peru.

Jessica Zukhovich  |  United States  (4 / 5)

I liked the personalized trip page on the website because I found it very easy to use and appreciated all the steps laid out for me. I thought it was very thorough and useful. It was a bit difficult to communicate with the service staff due to time differences.

I feel my experience was very worthwhile and only wish I could have stayed longer.

The accommodation was fantastic. The local staff was amazing! We were given a very thorough orientation which helped prepare me for the rest of my trip. Our hostel manager, Kevin, was always available to assist with anything we needed and made sure our tours were booked, taxis arrived, and that we were comfortable at hotel. He played such an integral role in the house dynamic and definitely contributed to my unforgettable experience!

The highlight of my whole trip was having the opportunity to live with and make friends from all over the world. I will always carry with me all the amazing memories from this trip.

Bethany Gordon  |  United States  (5 / 5)

This is the most incredible experience of my life and I am thankful to Go Discover Abroad for making this even better for us by guiding us at every step.

I think that the experience of a solo trip is definitely worthwhile.

Ana Silleras  |  Spain  (5 / 5)

I think the website is quite good, everything is clear and the information is easy to find. The pre-departure booklet was really complete and also it was very useful, I think all the issues were covered.

The service staff was great from the very beginning, if not it wouldn't have been so easy to get the trip ready. I loved the project I was working on, the experience just couldn't have been more amazing.  I was really impressed by the staff team of my orphanage ( Upendo Face). they were so nice to us and to the kids, I'm glad I had the chance to work there.
I think the meals were really good, and the accommodation too. it’s true that they could clean the rooms more often, but it was correct.

Laura Groeschel  |  Germany  (4 / 5)

The PreDeparture Information booklet was very useful. Staff responses were very useful, nice and they always answered fast.

My placement was a great experience I'll never forget and it was a pleasure for me to teach the kids and play with them. The organizers of the orphanage were also really nice and friendly.
They really celebrated my last day and sang and danced for me. Furthermore they were really greatful for what I did.

I really felt at home at the accommodation and the meals were always really delicious. Coutry Coordinator and support staff there were very good because they supported and helped us wherever it was possible and they also organized a lot of amazing trips.

The Four-Day-Safari to Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro-Crater and Serengeti Nationalpark are the highlights of my program.

Melissa Tweedie  |  Australia  (5 / 5)

The website was easy to navigate, well organised and with lots of photos. The itinerary was very useful and comprehensive. The staff were greatly helpful and responsive.

Friendships with other travelerss; the cultural experience, exploring Tanzania was an awesome experience. Visiting Masai village are some of the best experience of my whole trip.

Extremely grateful for the amazing experience I will treasure for my lifetime; very happy to recommend to others.

Chelsey Cleemoff  |  Canada  (4 / 5)

My experience in Chiang Mai was nothing less than amazing. Every possible expectation I had was completely exceeded and left me with a full heart and tears that I had to leave the place and go home. The experiences I have had in the last two weeks are some of the best I’ve had in my whole lifetime.

Not only did I get to shadow doctors in a hospital, I got to engage in the Thai culture, meet lifelong friends from around the world and helped myself to be a better person. Although this all sounds so cheesy and cliché, I am so grateful for everything I have done there with this program

Allen Zeng  |  United States  (5 / 5)

After spending 2 weeks abroad in Surin, Thailand, I can safely say this was one of my best travel experiences. The coordinators made it easy to sign up for the programs, and they made it clear as to what to do once I landed.

I learned new cultures and met lots of other great volunteers from all over the globe. The program itself was educational and unique. Many volunteers chose to stay longer and I can't say I blame them.

Accommodation was very basic, but had all the essentials and was clean. The coordinators gave us lots of freedom in spending our spare time, and gave us information about weekend trips and such.

I highly recommend signing up for a trip! You'll learn many things about the world and discover more about yourself in the process.

Lydia Loxton  |  United Kingdom  (5 / 5)

I was lucky enough to go to Thailand with Go Discover Abroad.

I was lucky enough to have JJ as my guide for the 3 weeks. He was lovely, super helpful and a friendly man who totally took care of us the whole time! He is of Thai origin, so knew how everything worked and he's also a very experienced tour guide!

The first full day was a boat tour which was a really nice way to see the sights and get to know the group.

Nightlife along Khao San Road is crazy- every night is like a Friday or Saturday night! Very cheap cocktails and loads of weird bugs you can eat here.

If you love a massage, then Thailand is the place. A foot massage is about £2.50 for half an hour.

We went to a huge market for an afternoon.  As always, be prepared to haggle! It's seriously hot, always have lots of water with you - bottled water is like 20p and is sold everywhere!!

There are many temple trips, and I would suggest you go as the temples are beautiful.

The trek at the national park is no big deal at all. I packed my trekking boots and everything but trainers would have been enough. We only hiked for about an hour and a half. But it was beautiful, loads of wildlife! No need to buy special socks from the shop, though, pulling your socks up and wearing trousers is absolutely fine!!

Hopefully, whatever project you decide, you'll have a great time. Sahil and his team are super helpful and very quick to respond to any questions!

If you go to Thailand, hopefully, you'll be lucky enough to have JJ as your guide who really was wonderful. He even came with us on our weekend away to Khao Samed Island and kindly organized it all for us so we weren't ripped off!

Aiyana Dancy  |  United States  (5 / 5)

The website  was easy to use for the most part. The itinerary was useful, maybe a reminder to pack light and to pick up small toiletries.

Thailand was indeed awesome! The beaches, adventure rides, food everything was fab.

Louisa Culley  |  United Kingdom  (4 / 5)

It was easy to see everything on the website about your chosen program.

The Staff was great. If I ever emailed I would always receive an email back helping me as they could and while on my program, any little question asked was always answered even if it meant our tour guide had to find it out for us.

The in-country coordinator and support staff was Amazing. Everybody was there for you no matter what and did whatever they could to help you and help you have the best time ever.
Thank you for the most amazing experience of my life, thus far!!

Ayla Olden  |  United States  (5 / 5)

I had an absolutely amazing time on the Thailand. The entire group absolutely adored our tour guides. Both of them did an amazing job the entire trip helping us adjust to the culture shock of Thailand and helping us learn and submerge ourselves in the culture. All of the Go Discover Abroad staff here have been amazing and have really helped us get the full Thai experience.

Sandeep Saini  |  United Kingdom  (4 / 5)

The website was very detailed on all excursions we would be doing. The project was one of the best experiences of my life, I feel I learnt a lot.

Most definitely I enjoyed the experience, the work was not forced and everyone worked at a comfortable pace, the group was amazing and we had the best tour guide (Ben) who made us feel like family.

The accommodation was the right balance, we experienced hostels, hotels and guesthouses which was the perfect mix to experience life in Thailand.

The staff were very helpful. The elephant village gave me a lot of joy, I gained peace of mind adapting to a different lifestyle, also I enjoyed the kids daycare in Surin.

Rachel Daniels  |  United States  (4 / 5)

I liked the different tabs for the upcoming trip on the website and how they were red or green depending on if the requirements had been fulfilled. I also loved the countdown until the trip at the top of the page!

My highlight of the experience was visiting and working at the elephant village in Chiang Mai. It was definitely one of the top three highlights of my entire life!

I have to say that I was very impressed with the organization and the amount of activities planned throughout the course of the trip. I am fortunate to have traveled quite a bit during my lifetime with other programs and I was very pleased with Go Discover Abroad and their commitment to following the set program and participating in each activity the fullest.

The experience is pretty awesome. This trip becomes the highlight of my summer since we have not only accomplished plenty of community service but also befriended with each other. We have immersed ourselves in Thai culture, making contribution to the community and having fun with each other. I would be so excited to recommend this trip to others because it is so life changing.

The working part is pretty fun. We have done a lot things that are meaningful, which are something that I am so glad for.

Friends are one of the most important parts in this trip. we have become really close friends at the end of the trip.

I find the website organized, easy to navigate and appealing. The itinerary was very helpful and gave good and relevant information about Nepal. Service and staff was nice.

The highlight of my trip was doing bungy jumping. The trip was great indeed.

I will recommend this program for sure

I am traveling from past 8 months around the world and although Nepal was not on my bucket list in the beginning I immediately fell in love with this colorful, vibrant country and its lovely people.

In the one week I was taught some basics in Nepali language - which was very helpful - and visited the main attractions - like Durbar Square, Boudhanath Stupa, Monkey Tempel and the Pashupatinath temple.

A heartwarming experience thanks to Go Discover Abroad!

Saying goodbye to wonderful Nepal was very difficult for me, hope to come back one day!!!!

Isabel Quinn  |  United States  (5 / 5)

The website was very easy to use. I liked the way I could see the actions that I had taken or still needed to take on the top of the page.
Sahil was great! My questions were always answered within 24 hours, in a courteous and professional manner.
Great experience!
I saw so many beautiful and awe-inspiring things in Nepal. I took a trek to Pokhara and saw the rays of the rising sunshine on the snow covered peaks of the Annapurna mountain range. It was unbelievable! The whole trip was a great experience.

Ashis Gurung  |  Germany  (4 / 5)

I like the whole website because the structure of the website is very well, so it is easy to find everything as quick as possible.  All in all, the pre-departure booklet was helpful. I got many information about the country and the culture.

I completely enjoyed my placement, if I had the time, I would have extend for 2 more months. And I find my experience worthwhile because I can speak Nepali, I had the opportunity to translate in Nepali when the children did not understand me.

I was happy with the accommodation and with the meals. In-country staff support was very well.

Actually every day was an highlight. But they were two special highlights. One was, that we were allowed to take the children from the orphanage out from their hostel and we went to garden of dreams in Kathmandu. It was a lot of fun, especially for the children because they are never allowed to go out from their hostel. The other special highlight was my farewell. The children and me were really sad because I enjoyed to be with the children and it was nice for them to have a volunteer who can speaks Nepali for them.

Songzi Wen  |  United States  (4 / 5)

I like the live chat support on the website and the itninerary was also very helpful.

The highlight of my trip were:

1 – Treked to the Everest Base Camp
2 – Experience amazing Nepali culture.
3 – Meet wonderful people from different places.
4 – Learned simple things like not to be judgemental.

I will definitely recommend this trip. Even though Nepal might be not very rich but people in Nepal are still very friendly and their hearts definitely are full of love. I truly believe the tomorrow of Nepal must be very bright!

Camille Pacory  |  Mexico  (4 / 5)

I had a great time in Nepal. I had a great experience with the children at the orphanage, they are lovely and always want attention. Nepal is a wonderful country there are lots of places to visit and each one of them fascinating. I was able to get to know the people and culture of Nepal.

The house was clean and spacious and in a good neighborhood. The food was alright.

I really enjoyed working at the orphanage with the kids. I love kids and babies and I got to to take care of both with was great. I feel it was a great experience and I'm glad I could help in a way the kids in need who unfortunately don't have a family.

Mae alfaddaghi  |  United States  (5 / 5)

It was an AMAZING experience! Nepal was full of beautiful scenery, kind people, and awesome kids. I will never forget my time there and I'm honored to have met so many kind hearted people while I was in Nepal.

Uma-ji was incredibly hospitable and tried very hard to cater to our needs. Her and all of her staff were wonderful and I'm very grateful to them. The noodles and momo she made us were delicious !! She also planned a wonderful and perfect trip for me to Pokhara.

My experience in Nepal was great and far exceeded my expectations. Working with the children at the orphanages was great and I'm so happy I got the chance to meet such up-beat, rowdy, and giggly children. The older girls at Paropakar were the sweetest teenage girls I had ever met. They were kind as curious and hard working and they will always have a place in my heart. The overall experience was immensely worthwhile and I look forward to doing it again someday.

The highlights of my Nepal trip were meeting the kids, spending time with the girls at parobakar and getting to know them. Visiting beautiful pokhara.

Alejandra García Balaguer  |  Spain  (5 / 5)

The website was very well explained, the discussion of the programs, the choices available.

The staff was very well administered and very fast. I received prompt responses and they provided me all the information requested.

Yes, I enjoyed my placement a lot. My stay at the house was great, the trips I took with my friend during the weekend were good too. We have felt very safe. The orphanage was the best experience without a doubt, of the trip.

Accommodation and meals were good. The in-country staff was good too and available whenever required.

To know and spend time with the girls of the orphanage. It had been very rewarding and something very intense. I have loved being with the girls.

I will recommend this program depending on the type of tour people want to take.

Sandra Bosomworth  |  Germany  (4 / 5)

The staff was great. Every time when I had a question and write an e-mail, I’ve got an answer very quickly and I didn’t have to worry. Tage service was good. I have got answers right away.

My placement was great. I enjoyed the time with the kids and the staff. The girls I went with were a very good company.

The accommodation was fine and the food was great. Great service, If there were any questions we always had someone to talk to. Everybody was very nice. I think everybody at the Projekt was Happy that we we're there.

It was a great experience. The Golden Triangle Tour and my birthday cakes are definitely the highlight of my volunteering trip. Also experiences: to see that people who have very less are very happy with what they have.

I always recommend this organization and program, this was the best experience of my life.

Kathryn Jessop  |  United States  (4 / 5)

I liked that you could contract the program directors on the website. We were able to ask a lot of question and they got back to us promptly. The booklet was very helpful and the staff was amazing at answering questions efficiently and in a timely manner.

I loved it ! The kids were so cute and eager to learn. They loved having fun and were respectful. I will never forget them, and I am grateful to have met each one of them.

The accommodation was good. I loved having AC at night! I also liked all the bolts on the doors cause it made me feel safe Image removed. The meals were amazing! Wow! I looked forward to every single meal ! Great cooks!

I can’t say enough good things about the staff. All of them were friendly, helpful and made me feel at home. I know that if I had a problem I could go to anyone and they would help. Thank you so much!

There were so many highlights! The biggest was the people. Getting to know Shankar and Ramesh and the other staff members was a pleasure. The kids were so amazing! It was so fun to work with Shmita and Rajiv at the School.

Ofcourse I will recommend this program! this program was life changing!

Thank you so much for this opportunity. I enjoyed it so much and will never forget all of you! Thank you and I love you all! Image removed.

Christina Fischer  |  Germany  (4 / 5)

I liked that you could follow everything on the website, if you knew about the flight time or the money, the button was green and I also knew everything is all right. Predeparture booklet was everytime quick and good.

I enjoyed working at my placement, the kids were amazing. I had alot of fun with the kids and the stuff. Accommodation was nice I liked it being with people in one room together! Meal were delicious. :)

Coordinator and staff were nice. My highlight was to live and work with the Indian people. Now I know something about the culture and the country and the most beautiful temple I visited was Akshardham in Delhi! I love to visit it again.

Cara Lyons  |  United States  (5 / 5)

I thought the website was very well organized and easy to navigate.
The pre-departure booklet was incredibly helpful when planning for my trip. It helped me to know what to pack and what to anticipate for my experience over in India. The staff answered all of my questions very quickly and thoroughly.

I absolutely loved my project. It was an incredible organization which I hope to be able to work with in the future. I would like to hope they found my presence useful. I made a very nice connection with the girls at the orphanage and still keep in touch with them via email.

The meals were very nice. All vegetarian and very filling. Rajiv and his staff were more than helpful with whatever questions we had during our stay. They helped us with sightseeing opportunities as well as local restaurants and shopping.

The highlight of my trip was seeing the smiles on the girls' faces at the orphanage every time we walked in each day. They were so excited to see us and warmly welcomed us every afternoon.

Elvira Ignacio Sotoca  |  Spain  (4 / 5)

There were a lot of trips on the website to choose from and it was easy to navigate.
Everyone in the service staff was very helpful in regard to answering my questions. Emails were received very quickly.
My trip to Madagaskar was an awesome one indeed. It was one of the most adventurous trip I have ever been to.

Sarah Knight  |  United Kingdom  (5 / 5)

I Liked the color scheme of the website, and it was pretty easy to use. Lots of useful information. The pre– departure booklet was very useful, it basically answered all the questionsI had! My sisters emailed back and forth and we got lots of information very quickly.

I absolutely loved my placement. Don’t want to leave because of the boys. They were so sweet and polite and hilarious and we had the best time with them.

Accommodation and meals both were good. Priya showed us how to make Aloo-poori today, we should definitely put cooking down as an activity to do, so interesting! Thank you!

In-country coordinator and staff were helpful with tourist information, where to go, how best to get there etc. Staff always very smiley and interested in how we were spending our days.

I have enjoyed every aspect! Meeting and spending so much time with the boys at Jamghat; meeting all the other volunteer; sightseeing everything; the food.

A fantastic opportunity to work with disadvantaged children in an amazing country. Loved the Golden Triangle Tour. So much crammed in but i was all amazing. Jeeevan, our drivers, was so kind, he made it even better. Image removed.

Tanja Eggebrecht  |  Germany  (5 / 5)

I really liked the fact that your profile  on the website showed all the different thing that still had to be done or were already done. Thus it was very easy to get an overview. I found pre-departure booklet very informative, though the information given scared me a bit sometimes.

I actually loved to stay at the orphanage with the children because I learned a lot about Indian customs and lifestyle. Accommodation and meals both was great. I have nothing absolutely to complain about.

Staff were extremely careful and willing to listen to problems. I found it very interesting to live with other volunteers. We would go out and discover India together, which increased the level of fun and comfortability.

I will definitely recommend this organization and I even consider to chose this organization again for future programmes in other countries.

Allison Jessop  |  United States  (4 / 5)

I really appreciate the links to interviews and reviews of the projects and accommodations and found them very informative. The opportunity to chat online with a coordinator was definitely a help as well.

While coordinators were very helpful in answering our questions through chat/email, it would be really nice to know about the project beforehand ( Such as what kind of things the kids need, home many kids are there, etc.)

I loved the project, working with the kids has been so rewarding. I feel like they teach me more than I can teach them! I will miss them so much!!!

Excellent Food. I think I am going to miss the breakfasts especially My brothers were very jealous before I came here because of all the delicious Indian food I would be eating!

Shankar, Ramesh, Rajiv, Dheeraj, Parag, Sahil, Shreya – everyone has been just wonderful  and very accommodating! The same goes for Rajiv and Shmita – so welcoming!

The kids for sure the highlight of my trip. Their bright faces and love and energy will be in my memory forever. I wish I could bring them all home. Image removed.

Our trek was a little rough but everyone was very accommodating and willing to work things out. Thank you so much for an unforgettable amazing experience!Hope to see you all again someday!

Alejandra Mendoza  |  Spain  (5 / 5)

The website has clear information in general and the pre– departure booklet was helpful and closer.

It is not possible to enjoy more than I have. The project has been amazing. The accommodation was comfortable and cozy. and the meals were tasty. All the staff people are very nice.

The highlight of my trip is the possibility of meeting these wonderful girls at the orphanage which are so different to us and so similar at the same time.

It has been a good manner to manner to meet India for the first time.

Ruth Knight  |  United Kingdom  (4 / 5)

The website had lots of helpful information and was relatively easy to use. The staff support was excellent. I had lots of contact with Aparna Sharma, who was brilliant always quick to reply and very helpful. Vasundhara Gupta was also very helpful. Thank you!

Mr. Rajiv Kumar Sabharwal was very helpful. Mr. Dheeraj Kumar was very kind and helpful, immediately sorting out any issue we had! Our driver for the Golden Triangle Trip, Jeevan, was fantastic, always on time, very friendly. Thank You

I had a really good time with Go Discover Abroad and definitely want to visit India again.

Moria Patricia  |  Ireland  (5 / 5)

My experience of Dehli and of volunteering on the Street children project was wonderful. The extreme heat and humidity in Dehli was challenging and also made the conditions for working with the children a challenge also, but getting to know the children ( and meeting children I had worked with in a previous volunteer trip to Dehli) on the project in the short time I was there, and learning from them about their culture, their hopes and their dreams, made it all worthwhile.

I cannot praise enough the support, advice and hospitality shown by Shankar and Ramesh, in particular, in the Volunteer house in Dehli. Both went beyond the call of duty to welcome and support volunteers and to make everyone feel secure. This was my third time staying at the volunteer house over the past five years, and I must say, both are great hosts.

Shankar in particular seemed to be able to anticipate the needs of all the volunteers and no matter what time of day addressed and supported volunteers in adapting to the new environment. He also, with great patience, addressed the practicalities of adapting to a new environment that all volunteers must make, such as sorting SIM cards, transport and safety issues.

The accommodation was very homily and secure. It was also very well maintained by the hard work of Ramesh. Ramesh also did most of the cooking and food preparation and in doing so he made sure that the volunteers experienced regular mealtimes were they could exchange stories about their daily experience of volunteering. He also kept the house and bedclothes etc., fresh and clean, which was much appreciated by all the volunteers. The only criticism that I make of the accommodation was the lack of consistent wifi. For young volunteers first time away from home, in particular this was a serious issue as most wanted to keep contact with their parent(s). Over the two week period is was at times impossible to successfully make a wifi connection.

The experience of the project was hard work, challenging, but great. The rooms which the project take place have no air conditioning so physically being there for a number of hours each day in the extreme heat and humidity is at times Gruelling. However , once you become absorbed working with the kids, which is great, then the conditions become tolerable.

The highlight of my trip was meeting both the kids and other volunteers from different countries. I think the organisation should highlight more how volunteers of different nationalities learn so much from one another through living and working together on a project. This is my third time volunteering with volunteer solutions and I have made many long term friends from meeting others in the volunteer house.

I have an interest in working long term in volunteer projects. I have volunteered in many countries throughout the world and in my own country, so I have accumulated a wealth of experience of the needs of both host projects and volunteers.

Miriam Sophie Pressler  |  Germany  (4 / 5)

I like the personal account on the website where I can upload things, that makes the whole process very easy. The structure of the website is also very simple and clean.

The pre departure booklet was very helpful to prepare for my stay in India. It summarizes the main information about the country itself, as well as it gives good information about the accommodation and the chosen project. The few questions that I had, were answered very quickly and friendly. I had the feeling to be in good hands and the staff really cares about my worries.

The project has given me much insight about the life in India and I am very thankful for the time with the children. Everyone was friendly to me and after some time I felt like we were one little family. I really enjoyed the playing, helping with homework, drawing etc. , because I felt my help is appreciated.

The accommodation was simple but always clean. Sometimes I missed a kitchen, where we could make tea for in between (because we could only go to kitchen for breakfast and dinner). It was a good way to experience the everyday life here in India. The meals were good, I enjoy Indian food.

The Staff, especially Shankar, were very friendly. They tried to create a good atmosphere and helped us when we had questions, gave good advice and explanations.

My highlight was the work in my project, playing with the children, seeing them happy was my everyday pleasure. At the end we were like a little family and I will really miss them. Also living with international volunteers together was very good experience, that I will never forget.

I will recommend this organization for sure, I had a great time here. My project gave me very many memories that I will never forget. I gained experience for life.

Benjamin Mitchell  |  United Kingdom  (5 / 5)

I like the tracker system on the website which gave you a countdown until the start of your trip.I received my itinerary just on completing the online sign up process and I find it really informative.

Obviously I was very nervous before I arrived, as I'd never been to a foreign country before on my own. but upon arrival, I was met with a smile at the airport and was driven straight to the accommodation.

The accommodation was fantastic and I really enjoyed the meals. The in-country staff was very organised, dedicated and helpful.

The trip was fun & fab. Overall, I would highly recommend Go Discover Abroad, and I will certainly be going on another trip with them again some time in the near future!

Mary Vu  |  Australia  (4 / 5)

My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the program. We had the opportunity to work with street
children and also do sight seeing. It was very rewarding teaching and playing with the children
whom don't have much but have the biggest hearts. Volunteer Solutions took care of us and
answered all our inquiries. They organised tours and made sure we had an enjoyable time.

I enjoyed spending time with the children. They were very lovely and gave you all their attention. It was nice teaching them English, Maths and General Knowledge and even though they didn't know English that well they listened and learned.

Spending time with the children, teaching them something new and playing games with them were the highlihgts of my trip. Simply just interacting with them and creating memories with them. I enjoyed learning Hindi with them and teaching them clapping games.

I also really enjoyed going to landmarks such as the Taj Mahal and The Lake City Udaipur as I learnt about the history and appreciated the architecture. I really admire the Indian culture and hope more people take the opportunity to experience it as well.

ANA NEIRA  |  Ecuador  (5 / 5)

I really liked all areas in website, it is good organized and have all the information I need. The pre departure booklet was very useful, it has good recommendations and information that you need to know. The staff was very quick answering all the questions.

I really enjoyed my project. The children were awesome, very kind, cheerful and respectful. The accommodation was good and the meals were always delicious.

All the staff was very helpful the whole time. It was a great experience, it did fulfill my expectations. I would love to do it again sometime.

Maria Jover Gornall  |  Spain  (5 / 5)

The predeparture booklet was very informative and helpful. Working at the day care center has been an amazing experience.

The accommodation was very comfortable and I have had very nice moments. Meals were very nice!.

The people I have met including the children, the staff and other volunteers are the highlight of the trip. And also being able to discover a bit better the wonders of India and its culture and its sites.

An incredible experience, would definitely recommend!

Leanne Stoddart  |  United Kingdom  (5 / 5)

The website was easy to use. I liked watching the videos of other volunteers that had been here before and reading their testimonials. I would like to see more videos and testimonials from other volunteers.

The pre-departure booklet was excellent. Even simple things such as electrical plug sockets are used in India were given. All questions were answered and Sahil was great.

I enjoyed my placement very much, It was challenging to start with but after a day I settled in. The children have changed my life and my outlook on life.

Good food, accommodation was very clean, no complaints. Very welcoming staff, I would love to return in the future.

Meeting all the children at the street children programme was the highlight of this volunteering trip. Golden Triangle weekend tour to Jaipur and Agra was excellent.

Arada Caddy  |  Australia  (4 / 5)

The website was informative and user-friendly and the pre-departure booklet was also very informative and helpful.

The accommodation was clean and comfortable and the meals were good. The in-country support staff was very helpful and informative.

The entire trip was the highlight, sight seeing weekend trips, the placement/project, I enjoyed everything.

Everything was good, good experience, good program and staff.

Tsampika Kelepera  |  Greece  (4 / 5)

The website was very well organised, easy to explore and informative. The pre-departure booklet provided all the necessary information a volunteer would like to know before travelling to a foreign country. Also, the staff was very helpful, supportive and willing to answer all kind of questions.

I enjoyed working on the placement with all the kids. However, I would prefer to be given some activities we could use to improve the English level of the children, because the placement teacher insist on teaching only the ABC, animals and fruits name that the kids already know.

The place we stayed was in a very nice area, close to a  market, clean and comfortable and the meals were tasty and very well cooked. The coordinators and staff were really nice people, always willing to help and offer their knowlegde and support. Thank you everyone!!!

I really liked the different way of everyday life of Indian people. I enjoyed and admired the spectacular moments ( Taj Mahal, Akshardham Temple, Lotus Temple) of India as well as the Indian culture.

Volunteers could teach sentences, question – answers that kids could use when speaking with foreigners. Some basic English in order to communicate and understand foreign people. This way one can make the most of their volunteering experience and can actually offer their help and feel useful, not just keep company and play with the children.

Suseela Zwaal  |  United Kingdom  (5 / 5)

Excellent experience overall! Was able to learn much about the culture and way of life through volunteering at the preschool in Delhi and a tour of the city's historical highlights. Country co-ordinators were extremely welcoming and friendly, and went out of their way to make me feel at home.

Team co-ordinators were superb, and always went the extra mile to make us feel at home, cooking local food and showing us around Delhi.

The project was excellent, and a very worthwhile experience. Working with the children, although tiring as they were always full of energy, was extremely rewarding.

Working with a bunch of very lively children who were eager to learn and always full of energy was the main highlight! Also, the Golden Triangle Weekend Trip was excellent- was able to gain a taste of Indian history and culture and delicious food!

Sheree Wilson  |  China  (5 / 5)

I liked the volunteering portal section where I could log in and receive all the information for my trip. I found the pre-departure booklet very useful, it gave me all the information I needed. Operation Head Sahil was awesome. He answered all my questions in a timely manner.

My placement was great and the manager was a joy to work with. I feel fortunate to have been given that placement as the project also housed a women's empowerment group which I got to help out with. However, I feel there could have been more structure to the project and I wasn't given any instructions on what to teach or the level of the students. I managed because I have teaching experience and can gauge academic levels easily but my partner struggled to come up with lessons for the students.

I felt my efforts get appreciated and I would love to come back and do another project with Volunteering Solutions.

The accommodations were good but I think the meals were a bit bland at times and somewhat repetitive. Although the In-country staff were great. The service provided was excellent!

This trip to the Taj Mahal is the highlight!! It was great!!! Deraj(sp) was an awesome guide and driver!

ANA NEIRA  |  Ecuador  (5 / 5)

I really liked all the areas on the website, it is well organized and have all the information you need. The pre-departure booklet was also very helpful, it has good recommendations and informations that you need to to know and the staff was very quick answering all the questions.

I really enjoyed my placement, the children were awesome, very kind, cheerful and respectful. The accommodation was good and the meals were always delicious.

Julie Kim  |  United States  (4 / 5)

I found the website very useful. Also every email I sent was answered promptly and in full. I felt that I had adequate help in preparing for the trip.

The kids were lovely. I wish we could have stayed longer. Breakfast and dinner was delicious. I think if there were more fresh fruit and vegetables it would be nice but that is just a personal preference, without was fine as well.

The highlight was going to the placement and playing with the kids, I wish we had more time.

I enjoyed all the cities we stayed in very much. Maybe spread out the visits to the temples a bit more. The accommodation was really nice and clean and the hotels in the last week were amazing. Maybe a bit more variety in the meals in Palampur is a little change that can be done.
The Orientation Session was informative and well set out. I really enjoyed my time on this trip whether it's volunteering with children in Delhi or working at the elephant village in Jaipur. I loved that we got the opportunity of painting the classrooms in Palampur, the time I spent with the group, our night outs and Taj Mahal is worth the whole trip. The Local staff were all very approachable and welcoming and were experienced and knew a lot about the cities and were always helpful. I definitely recommend this program.

I liked the whole website. It was very easy to navigate and clearly laid out.  I thought that pre-departure booklet was very good and helped me a lot before I departed on my travels. I thought that the trek wasn't really explained that well as it was a lot more strenuous than explained in the booklet.

I thought that staff was extremely helpful in answering all our questions and we're always there whenever we needed any help at all for anything.

I loved working at the placement in Delhi it really gave an insight to the daily lives of the children that came to the school and their living conditions were also shown to us well. The project at the elephant village in Jaipur was amazing I loved every second of that especially getting to climb up the elephant and washing the elephants.   I feel as though the whole experience was an Eye opener. My efforts were Definitely appreciated and I would definitely recommend it to my friends.   I found the accommodation really homelike it was professionally organised and laid out in all the places my favourite was the hotel in Jaipur. The meals were good but I felt as though they were quite repetitive.

In-country staff
was amazing, Rajiv was really good. He explained everything really well and was very hospitalising.

The highlight of my trip was working with the children in Delhi and the elephant village in Jaipur. Also the trekking as it helped me overcome my fear of heights.

The pictures on the website were very appealing to me and the detailed information of each program is useful to me. The pre departure  booklet was useful and staff provided information within no time.   I love my program placement, the children are so nice, staff at the placement is very friendly. It was bit shocking to witness kids living in such conditions but it was a meaningful experience. Before independence day I took part in a celebration with the centre and it was like a ceremony, they sang and danced and we also had a small celebration. I think the happiness I felt in their eyes during independence day was the highlight of my trip.   The accommodation and meals were nice. The Volunteering Solutions staff was very good. They all are so nice and responsible, Thank You very much.   It is a meaningful experience so I will recommend it to people in China.
