Citizens of countries such as the UK, the USA, Australia, Canada, Japan and majority of the EU countries do not need a Visa to enter Morocco. You can get a 90-day tourist stamp on your passport on arrival. Make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months. You'll need money for your personal expenses, additional tour costs, weekend meals (at times, if you are heading out for lunch or dinner) etc. It'll be sufficient if you keep $40 - $50 per week.
Rabat is a safe city to volunteer and Morocco, in general, is a safe country for travelers. Off late, the tourism scene has been rapidly flourishing in the country. However, we believe that your safety depends on you to a large extent, hence you need to be a little cautious. We'll have our coordinators who'll be there at your service, 24/7. So you need not worry about safety.
Due to its unique cultural mix, there are some wonderful festivals celebrated in this country. If you are a music lover, then you'll be dying to attend the Fez Festival of World Sacred Music that happens during Springtime (check the dates online). You can also attend the Marrakesh Popular Arts Festival, Eid al-Adha, Kelaa-des-Mgouna Rose Festival etc. Check your dates and our coordinator will guide you about the festivals you can be a part of.
Most of the travelers aren't well versed in either French or Arabic, and they usually don't face many problems. Of course, knowing the language will keep you ahead of others for sure. You can also opt to attend Arabic or French classes while in Rabat. All our coordinators can speak and converse in English, so you need not worry about language barrier.
Morocco experiences Mediterranean climate, with warm to hot dry summers and mild damp winters. So pack your clothes accordingly. Since the society is a little conservation, we would suggest you to carry clothes that cover you properly and are comfortable enough. Bring your toiletries and medicines. Don't make your luggage too heavy, as most of the things will be available in Rabat.
