Day 1 - Welcome to Bangkok
Our coordinator will be there at Suvarnabhumi Airport to greet you once you arrive, and then you'll be taken to the accommodation where you can take rest after your long flight. Meet your fellow travelers and get to know them better, as you'll be spending almost a month with them! In the evening, you can head out to explore the Khao San Road and binge on some local delicacies.
Day 2 - Orientation and City Tour
The country coordinator will organize an Orientation Session where you'll be given a detailed idea about the itinerary, as well as about Thailand in general. You'll get to learn a few words that can come handy while traveling. Also, point down the Dos and Dont's, things to do, where to eat etc. Later, the Bangkok city tour will take you on a journey through the old city and includes magnificent temples and a riverboat ride. You'll have a fun filled evening at Khao San Road, partying with your new friends!
Day 3 - Visit Chatuchak Market
Known as the largest outdoor market in Southeast Asia, this would be a paradise for all the shopaholics! You'll get the best deals in everything - from shoes to bags, electronic items, antiques and much more. Make sure not to spend all your money here - it's just the 3rd day of your trip!!
For the rest of the day, you can explore on your own. Seek guidance from the coordinator, who can assist you in planning where to go and what to do.
Day 4 - Visit the Wat Pho School in Bangkok
Wat Pho is one of Thailand’s most iconic temples and home to the gigantic, golden reclining Buddha. The temple authorities run a school for underprivileged children, and this will be an incredible opportunity for you to spend time with those kids. This is a privilege that most tourists may never get to experience. You can play with the kids, teach them a rhyme or two, and shower them with love.
Day 5 - Travel to Surin
The journey from Bangkok to Surin will take around 7 hours. Once you reach Surin, the local coordinator will give you a brief about your stay, the volunteer work as well as the tour in general. After that, you can relax before getting ready for the project work.
Day 6 to Day 9 - Volunteering Experience
Get involved in teaching and renovation work at the Child Care Center in Surin. Although Thailand has developed much, thanks to the flourishing tourism in the country, Surin is still one of the poorest regions in Thailand and many facilities are desperately underfunded. Use your creative ideas to add some colors and vibrancy to the entire environment. You can also teach basic lessons to the kids, and assist the staff for the betterment of the centers. More details about the volunteer work will be provided to you onsite.
Day 10 - Free day to explore on your own
We've kept this day for you to explore on your own! In case you wish to just chill and relax, you can do that as well. If you need any help while planning your trip, do get in touch with the coordinator.
Day 11 to Day 15 - Live life at the Elephant Village
Immerse yourself into the traditional Thai life while living at the elephant village in Surin, with the mahout community. You'll get to observe the mahouts closely, how they live, how they care for the elephants etc. You can also assist them by taking these friendly animals out for a walk, by feeding and bathing them. For those who are interested, this would be a great opportunity to learn some cooking tricks as well, from your warm and generous hosts.
Day 16 to Day 17 - Free days for you to explore on your own
After an enriching experience at the elephant village, you'll have two days to chill and relax, before we set out for another adventurous journey.
Day 18 to Day 19 - Travel to Khao Yai National Park
One of the highlights of this tour is a visit to one of the most beautiful destinations in Thailand - the Khao Yai National Park. From Surin, it'll take approximately 4 hours to reach this place. For all the nature lovers, to add to your delights, we'll go for a jungle trekking through the trails of this park and you can fill your lungs with freshness! We'll stop beside one of Thailand’s most iconic waterfalls and catch a glimpse of the breathtaking Pha Daew Dai. Packed lunch will be served to all during the trek.
By the evening of Day 19, we'll get back to the accommodation.

Going to a temple to teach children during the day was fun. We played lots of games and as a group bought lots of sweets to hand out to the children at the end.
I totally enjoyed my placement. The in-country staff was very nice. Working at The elephant village was the best part of our trip.
I had an absolutely amazing time in Thailand. VolSol staff helped us in adjusting to the culture shock of Thailand and helping us learn and submerge ourselves in the culture.
I had the best month of my life and I would recommend it to anyone even contemplating the idea. It's more than just volunteering as you get to travel and see amazing sights you haven't and will never see again.
My highlight of the experience was visiting and working at the elephant village in Surin. It was definitely one of the top three highlights of my entire life!
The elephant village gave me a lot of joy, I gained peace of mind adapting to a different lifestyle, also I enjoyed the kids daycare in Surin.
We have immersed ourselves in Thai culture, making contribution to the community and having fun with each other. I would be so excited to recommend this trip to others.
