About The Package
Go Discover Abroad provides voluntourism program option in Dharamsala and its surrounding areas where you can opt to choose from childcare program placement or teaching program placement. Both of these program placements are pretty famous and you will surely have a time of your life. Dharamsala is quite famous for its monasteries and also home to Dalai Lama.
Volunteers Role: We place volunteers in local day care centers located in and around Palampur. Palampur is a rural area and there are not many qualified teachers or well-trained caretakers available hence our volunteers play an important role in the development of kids and provide them with much needed attention, love and care. You can also help the local staff of center and your ideas are always welcome for improvement in the working of center. You can also take part in feeding, cleaning, clothing and teaching of these children at the placement.
Alternatively you can also choose to join our teaching program placement where you will be placed in primary or secondary government schools. You can lead your own class or work along with teachers and assist them on daily basis. The age range of children is between 6 - 14 years. You will work 5 - 6 hours a day from Monday to Friday 5 days a week. You are welcome to teach English, Maths, General Knowledge, Geography or in play way method.

Arrival in Dharamsala - Palampur
Upon arrival at Gaggal Airport, Dharamsala you will be greeted by our representative who would take you to the accommodaiton. On this day, you can relax or take a walk around your accommodation. You can either take connecting flight from Delhi to Dharamala or take a bus from Delhi to Palampur. Both are safe and convinient.

Orientation about program
After breakfast you would be given orientation about your program placement. Our representative will accompany you to the placement vanue and will introduce you the placement staff where you will start your program. Volunteers usually work 5 - 6 hours in a day.

Volunteer Work
You will travel to your placement with other volunteers and spend time with the children or teach at the school depending on your interest.

Trip to Manali or Trekking/Paragliding
(March – July and October – November) you will go trekking up (with all equipment included) in the Himalayas where you will be able to experience the sheer beauty of Himalayas. We will take you from Mcleodganj – Triund (9KM). Triund is heaven for nature - adventure lovers and trekkers. Many people complete this trekking route every year.
OR
(August – September and December – February) visit Kullu - Manali for 2 nights and 3 days trip and experience the sheer beauty of Himayan region. Leave for Manali in exclusive vechile and have breakfast on the way. Check in to the hotel and rest for some time. During afternoon we will take you to Manali sightseeing and will cover Hadimba Devi Temple, Vashist Temple (Hot Water Spring), Solang Nala (Winter Sport Location).

Continue with weekend trip
If you love adventure, we will also provide paragliding in Bir which is around 25 KM from Palampur. Accommodation and Meals are included in program. Bir after Lake Como, Italy is on number second on world's best places for paragliding.
OR
You will have breakfast in the hotel and then we will take you to local market trip (Manali), Rorich Naggar Art Gallery, Manu Mandir, Tibetan monasteries and White Water Rafting (up to 14KM). Hotel accommodation and meals are incuded in the program cost.

Departure from Manali to Palampur
Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel and then leave for Palampur. You can relax in Palampur once reached as there is no scheduled program.

Palampur Sightseeing
After Breakfast leave for Palampur Local sightseeing in and around Palampur. You will visit one of the oldest Baijnath Temple, Andretta Art Gallery, Tea Garden and Factory, local market and Neugal River.

Dharamsala - McLeodganj Sightseeing
On this day we will take you to Dharamsala - Mcleodganj, which is also home to Dalai Lama. It is around 40 KM from Palampur and very famous among travelers. You will cover Bhagsunath Temple, McLeodganj Market, Tibetan Monastery and Waterfalls. Head back to Palampur.

Transfer to Gaggal Airport or Bus Station as per your schedule.
