Day 1

Arrival at Paro

The flight into Paro, is a fit introduction to spectacular and beautiful Bhutan. In clear weather, you get magnificent views of the world’s highest peaks and the lush green Paro valley. What you get on arrival is cool and clean fresh air. After immigration process, once you come in the arrival area, our representative would welcome you and take you to hotel Olathang. 

Paro valley is quite picturesque with charming clusters of hamlets and terraced paddy fields. Enjoy your lunch at the hotel.

After lunch our vehicle would take you to Satsam chorten to hike up to the Taktsang monastery (Tiger’s nest). The hike to the cafeteria will take around one and half hour. At the view point, you can enjoy the spectacular views of the monastery, where Guru Padmasambhava landed on the back of a tigress in the 8th century. Tea/coffee with snacks will be served at the cafeteria. Later walk back to the main road. In the evening, enjoy a walk through Paro’s main shopping district. Overnight at hotel Metta Resort and Spa.
Day 2

Sightseeing of Paro valley & drive to Thimphu

In the morning drive the zigzagging road to Drukgyal Dzong, the ruined fort, which was once protected this valley from Tibetan invasions. Mount Chomolhari, the sacred peak, reaches skyward beyond the dzong. This can be viewed on a clear weather day. On the way back visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest monasteries built in the 7th century. Also visit to Rimpung Dzong, built in 17th century to defend the valley against Tibetan invaders. The dzong is now used as a school and an administration centre. A short walk below the dzong takes you across a traditional bridge to one of the numerous archery grounds. (Archery is the national sport of Bhutan). Before lunch drive to visit Ta Dzong, (National Museum) built in the 17th century as a watch tower for the Paro Dzong. This dzong was converted into the National Museum in 1967. The museum boasts antique thangka, textiles, weapons and armour, household objects and rich assortment of natural and historic artifacts. Lunch will be served at a restaurant in Paro. 

After lunch depart to Thimphu, capital of Kingdom of Bhutan. The drive will take around 2 hours. The town is made up of just three lines of shops and is the only capital in the world without traffic lights. In the afternoon visit the Weekly Outdoor Market, where everyone goes to buy fruits and vegetables, rice, grains, chilies and other fresh foods. The crowded shops offer several colorful local items such as yak tail dusters, butter tea cups, turquoise from Nepal and Tibet and musical instruments. Overnight stay at hotel Kisa.
Day 3

Thimphu valley sightseeing & hike to Tango Monastery

In Thimphu visit the National Memorial Chorten, built in honor of our late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuk and National Library, stocked with ancient Buddhist manuscripts. Also visit the Folk Heritage Museum, which is dedicated to connecting people to the Bhutanese rural past through exhibition of items and artifacts used in rural households. 

Afternoon drive towards the north of Thimphu valley to hike to Tango Monastery where there is a Buddhist institute for the monk bodies who are trained in higher studies and meditation. En route, get the glimpse of Dechenchholing palace. In the evening, enjoy a walk through Thimphu’s main shopping district with a visit to Handicrafts Emporium, which has all types of Bhutanese handicrafts for sale. Overnight stay at hotel Kisa.
Day 4

Thimphu – Punakha & hike to Khamsum Yueley Chorten

After breakfast drive to Punakha. Once you leave Thimphu, the road climbs steeply through a forest of pine and cedar near Dochula pass (3,050 m).  This pass offers panoramic views of the Himalayan mountain ranges. After stopping for tea and the views, you descend along a series of hairpin turns to the lush valley of Punakha. 

Take a stroll through the small town and view the Punakha Dzong, winter seat of the Je Khenpo and ancient capital of Bhutan, located between the rivers of the Mo (Female) Chu and Pho (Male) Chu. The dzong is open to visitors only in summer when the Je Khenpo and the Monk Body are in Thimphu. In the afternoon drive towards the north of Punakha valley for 02 hours. Visit Khamsum Yueley Chorten which is a three storied building with beautiful paintings of the Buddhist teachings. From here you can get magnificent view of Punakha valley. Overnight stay at hotel Meri Puensum/Zangtopelri in Punakha.
Day 5

Punakha - Limukha. Overnight Camp

Enjoy your breakfast and drive a few kilometers to the suspension bridge believed to be the longest suspension bridge in Bhutan. Your trek begins here. The trail takes you into the valley of Shengana and a gradual climb through the pine forest takes you into the valley of Limukha. En route visit Dompala village. Stay overnight in a camp at Limukha village.

Altitude: 1800 m: Distance: 14 Km: Walking time: 5-6 hours.
Day 6

Limukha - Chungsakha

Today’s trek path takes you to downhill through the Rhododendrons sand Oak forest into the village of Chungsakha. En route visit to an old temple used by Lama Drukpa Kuenley as his winter residence in the 15th century. Overnight stay at the camp.

Altitude: 1435 m: Distance: 14 km: Walking time: 5-6 hours.
Day 7

Chungsakha - Samtengang

This trek takes you across the baychu (river). From the river you climbs up hill into the Sha valley of Wangdue Phodrang district, finally reaching the valley of Samtengang. Overnight stay at camp at the lake side.

Altitude: 1350 m: Distance: 13 km: Walking time: 5 hours.
Day 8

Samtengang-Tikizampa(endof trek)- Excursion to Haa-Paro

Enjoy the early breakfast and trek into the valley of Tikizampa. Our representative would meet you and transfer you to to Haa valley by vehicle. Picnic lunch will be served at one of the restaurants on the way. Haa valley was forbidden to the outside world until 2003 and is the border town between Tibet and Bhutan. It also has the military base camp for both India and Bhutan. After the visit of Haa valley which lies at an altitude of 2, 700m drive through Chelila pass (3,780 m) into the valley of Paro. Overnight at hotel Metta Resort and Spa.
Day 9

Departure from Paro

Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Paro airport as per your flight schedule.

Cancellation policy:-
  • 20% cancellation charges if cancelled 1 month before tour starts.
  • 50% cancellation charges if cancelled 15 days before tour starts.
  • No refund if tour cancelled within 15 days of tour starts.
